What Happened To The Carp 99.9

(16/04/2011) CULIVILLAS PEAK (2.523 m) - Zone Formigal - Huesca Pyrenees

This weekend we return to Pyrenees with the intention to exploit the little remaining snow is going to (probably) to shelve to some fruitful season skiing. Leaving

Arrigorriaga and a ti-ta's "Mertxe" Luis us plant in the parking lot of the station Anayet Formigal.

Here's a map of the route (click on image to enlarge):

We put the tables and began to approach one side of the tracks to avoid being hit by any of the few skiers who have come today to the station.

We gain altitude while I'm trying to guess what the goal today. After talking to Luis "The Imam" and Albert "Old Dog" as only thing that is clear to me that we must pass between these two peaks before us.

Looking back toward the area Portalet (peladisimo of snow).

We left the tracks and we're interning.

Silvia advances while behind it is slowly emerging the colossal figure of the Midi d'Ossau.

At the end of the ravine we cross turn right now gaining height more quickly.

half of April and the Pyrenees "peel-strip."

Well, we get on with it, now you have to climb the steep slope to reach that hill.

Alla van Luis and Alberto tracing mark.

We are close: the last mushrooms and get the pass.

On the hill we met two French and asked Luis to do like this to keep the ski from here to the top. Answered with "only a fool ..." Luis says "Well, thank you very much" and to his surprise pulled up carrying the skis in hand.

From the pass we met I can contemplate the descent towards Izas Channel, back in front (left) the pointed tip Escarra and more to the right wall of the shovel Ip.

Terese and Silvia in the last z before reaching the hill.

We left to the astonished Gauls and up the stretch of rock to turn to put the tables and continue the ascent.

ask at this point helps the group to clarify: where are we going? What is the top?. Terese tells me that last year Huic this same route but had to leave on top snow on the right because of the fog.

Well, that's something, so come, to follow up. Silvia

Terese and reaching the summit snow.

Here we posed a bit and take off the skis since ...

... we want to continue to the top near the left and for that we cross the ridge.

Of course, these sections with your skis and not ...

Silvia walks with a slight stomach ache and decides it's better to wait in the snow-capped where We have removed the skis.

Progress in any stretch of the ridge is a little heavy is it, Albert?

Terese in full ridge with a breathtaking backdrop.

Last meters for the top .... "Estoooo ... a question: does anyone know where we have uploaded? Top what is this?"

"No, no p. .. idea, but I have a beer and I'll take" anybody want one? ".

After taking the first beer of the day I get the map (I made up this good habit), I begin to locate peaks and places is known and we are on top of Culivillas without realizing it. Terese

Come, now, if, photo: Alberto, Javi and Luis at the top of the Midi Culivillas on your right.
We

the picture and began the descent.

overcame this stretch snow (eye step too far left that it's going down) and reached the level where we expect Silvia.

I realize together the bottle of champagne and other meats that we carry, while enjoying the beautiful panorama offered by this place on Izas Valley.

Collection and placed the tables, to see how this descent.

Let those who know to be plotting more ...

... disfrutaaaaar and ...

good snow conditions during the descent and all for us (the tracks have closed at 3 pm).

Back in the tracks.
Nearing the end of our descent we look back, to come up there.

Luckily we have all the parking for us, if not ...
